French startup Aryballe has rolled out NeOse Advance, a digital olfaction solution that can detect, embed, and recognize various odors. The device can find its application in automotive and consumer industries like food and beverage, appliances, and personal care. The startup has also launched a cloud-enabled software Aryballe Suite that collects data from the device and allows customers to access and customize analysis of odors based on their needs.

There is a business case for prioritising sustainability that goes well beyond its societal benefits, new research shows. Businesses are increasingly reaping bottom-line benefits from focusing on environmental and ethical issues.The research, carried out by packaging company Smurfit Kappa and Longitude, a Financial Times company, surveyed 200 UK business leaders. It found that 83 per cent of businesses now believe that sustainability is a business opportunity to be exploited. Some 72 per cent expect sustainability to be an enduring trend – and 74 per cent are committed to staying ahead of their competitors on sustainability issues.

Several researchers at the Beijer Institute together with colleagues from its partners Global Economic Dynamics and the Biosphere (GEDB) and Stockholm Resilience Centre, were among the successful applicants to receive funding for projects designed to create research aimed at achieving the UN’s global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The call Realising the Sustainable Development Goals from the Swedish research council Formas, received a total of 174 applications, but only 11 projects were selected for funding.

The hands-on portion of this fun workshop will be an opportunity to participate in an Arbor Day Celebration tree planting in the Monarch Haven and Reading Sanctuary Garden located at the Red Mountain Branch Library in the NE corner of the parking lot.  The program includes a short overview of the Mesa Climate Action Plan and our commitment to making our city a greener community. Trees are a great solution for heat mitigation, and they help improve our air and water quality. Plus, they absorb greenhouse gasses and pollutants.
