A circular economy is an economic system that focuses on eliminating waste and the unnecessary use of resources. What that means to businesses, industries and individuals can vary, leading many to ask, “Which practice supports a circular economy?” Using resources efficiently is the practice that is central to how the circular economy is implemented. In other words, the goal of a circular economy is to use as few resources as possible by keeping materials in circulation and getting the greatest value from them. That may mean different things to different companies based on your industry, what services or products you offer, and your sustainability goals. After all, there are many ways to incorporate circular economy concepts, from salvaging used parts for production to incorporating circular economy practices into your waste management plan.

That figure is double that of last year, providing hope that this Black Friday could be the best ever.
For those wondering if the pandemic had knocked sustainability into touch, the answer is clearly “no” if the marketing from green organisations promoting the efforts of HPE and Konica Minolta is anything to go by.
Both firms have received backing over the past couple of days for the efforts they have made to support the planet. The awards should make it easier for their respective channel partner bases to include a green element in their pitches to customers.
As a result of increased agricultural activity brought about by the expansion of the wine industry, the biodiversity of the floral kingdom is under threat in the Cape Winelands. A conservation programme by the WWF is now helping to ensure that wine farms decrease their impact on the environment. Wine farmers in the Cape Winelands are increasingly turning to alternative farming methods, which are helping to preserve the two global biodiversity hotspots in the region. About 95% of South Africa’s wines are produced in the Cape Winelands, which is in the Cape Floral Kingdom and includes the Succulent Karoo biome. Unesco has recognised it as one of the world’s six floral kingdoms and it is the smallest and most diverse plant kingdom.
