BASF expands biopolymer portfolio with Hydagen Clean
BASF has added a new product to its biopolymer line-up. Hydagen Clean is a cold processable rheology modifier, obtained from the tuber of the konjac plant, native to southwest China. The COSMOS-approved texturising biopolymer is said to be suitable for aqueous systems like gels, fluids and serums, as well as for novel formats like patches, jellies and peel-off formulations thanks to its film-forming and gelation properties. Due to its low microbial count and rapid dissolution in cold and hot water, Hydagen Clean is said to be easy to use.
