California’s Trinkler Dairy Farm, a Nestle supplier, has become the first pilot farm within the U.S. Dairy Net Zero Initiative (NZI). With an initial $1.5 million investment from Nestle, Trinkler will test new technologies and implement sustainable farming practices to demonstrate the economic viability of achieving net zero emissions within the next five years. BASF has added a new product to its biopolymer line-up. Hydagen Clean is a cold processable rheology modifier, obtained from the tuber of the konjac plant, native to southwest China. The COSMOS-approved texturising biopolymer is said to be suitable for aqueous systems like gels, fluids and serums, as well as for novel formats like patches, jellies and peel-off formulations thanks to its film-forming and gelation properties. Due to its low microbial count and rapid dissolution in cold and hot water, Hydagen Clean is said to be easy to use.
