Polestar, Volvo’s electric performance brand, has opened its first production facility in Chengdu, China. It will produce the Polestar 1, an electric performance hybrid coupe. “Here in Chengdu we are not only manufacturing a premium hybrid-electric performance car,” Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said in a prepared statement. “We have also created an inspirational manufacturing environment, a great place to work and visit.
