The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has started a new green initiative where it has partnered with RBH E-Waste Recycle Hub Pvt. Ltd. to dispose off old and unserviceable IT equipment from the offices, citizens, RWAs, markets etc. The corporation has launched an application for submitting the online request for collecting the e-waste. The citizens can visit the website ewaste.mcdservices.online and create an account. They can then raise the request on this portal and the vendor will collect the e-waste from their doorsteps within seven days.
The Future Skills Centre (FSC) recognizes the significance of yesterday’s federal budget, which identified many crucial investments to support the nation’s pandemic recovery around affordable housing, child care, health benefits, and workforce initiatives. FSC particularly welcomes the timely $794 million investment to build an inclusive workforce – with commitments to Indigenous peoples, immigration, and Black entrepreneurship, and $185 million to transition to a sustainable economy and green future. The budget delivers on opportunities to strengthen labour market mobility and training while driving innovation to ensure prosperity for all Canadians. “The investment in further skills development in this budget will help ensure we have all hands on deck in Canada’s economic recovery,” says Pedro Barata, executive director of the Future Skills Centre.

Mars, Incorporated has today announced it will incorporate recycled polypropylene plastic into the primary packaging for some of its popular pet food brands. For Mars, this marks an important step in its efforts to reduce virgin plastics use across its packaging portfolio, to do its part to build a circular economy where no packaging becomes waste. Through its partnership with global packaging supplier Huhtamaki and petrochemical leader SABIC, Mars will use recycled plastic which has been manufactured using an advanced recycling process for its pet food packs. Thanks to this process, the packs will not feel or be different from those made with traditional virgin plastic but will have the added benefits that they include recycled material coming from previously used plastic products.
