Launched in 2013 by founders Iseult Ward (left, above) and Aoibheann O’Brien (right, above), FoodCloud is a non-profit social enterprise, based in Ireland, that has created surplus food redistribution solutions, offering an alternative to throwing away food. In Ireland, more than 500 supermarkets upload details of their excess food to the platform so local charities can be notified to collect it daily. FoodCloud’s warehouse solution also redistributes surplus food from the supply chain to charities.
