Taking notes in lectures If you’re concerned by the amount of paper you’re getting through in lectures, try a free app like Evernote. Evernote is a note-taking app which allows you to hand-write, draw or type, add audio recordings, links and attachments for thorough and efficient lecture notes. It will give you a great deal of flexibility, letting you adopt whatever method best suits your learning style. Another bonus is that your notes will stay as they are. They won’t become untidy or crumpled and they’ll all be kept in one place permanently, which will undoubtedly come in handy over exam periods. It is a brilliant solution for paper waste, and definitely worth a try. If you enjoy sharing your notes with friends on your course, a platform like Evernote or OneDrive will make collaboration easy. Cut down on post-it notes Whether you use them to create to-do lists, bookmarks, or like to plaster your flat with them during revision, we’re all guilty of using hundreds of post-it notes over the course of our studies. Instead, why not adopt a paperless approach? Download an app like Google Keep onto your device to categorise your thoughts and filter using colour. It’s easy to use, and will synchronise across your devices so that your ideas are always within reach. If you’re a visual learner, this might be the perfect revision tool for you.
